Meet Dr. Nisabwe Florence

Dr. Nisabwe is a visionary dedicated to driving positive change in Africa. She holds a Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship and has made significant contributions as a publisher, investment adviser, marketing and digital marketing consultant, and branding and market research analyst. She is the Founder & CEO of Rise and Shine House and Co-Founder of Fondation Lance d'Afrique Burundi (FLAB).

At the heart of her work is her passion for empowering women through social entrepreneurship and leadership, encouraging them to embrace their talents, dream bigger, and achieve outstanding success. Dr. Nisabwe's Ph.D. research in Entrepreneurship and Economic Development inspired her to launch FLAB to empower women in Burundi directly.

She has authoured and co-authoured six books and numerous peer-reviewed articles, and she serves as an assistant professor for MBA students on a part-time basis. Dr. Nisabwe is also the Vice President of the Sectorial Chamber of Service Providers and President of the HTB Board of Counsellors at the Sectoral Chamber of Hospitality and Tourism - CFCIB.

Dr. Nisabwe is an active member of international organizations and has received several awards, including Female Wave of Change Ambassador Burundi and World Women Conference & Award Burundi Chapter Leader. She also serves as the President of the Burundi-India Business Council of Women's Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Her interests span education, women's economic empowerment, leadership, sustainable development, sustainable peace, and human rights.

This makes her an invaluable African connection for VIRTU for the real estate projects, cultural liaisons and professional forums being discussed. 

VIRTU Resort Expansion Plans in Africa - The Hotels market in Africa is expected to witness remarkable growth in the coming years. 

With Africa’s booming hospitality industry set to reach $731.4 billion by 2032 Dr. Florence Nisabwe will play a crucial role in VIRTU Resort & Residences plans to expand its presence in Africa, helping to ensure that projects align with a commitment to ESG principles. VIRTU is committed to expanding its presence in Africa. With the assistance of Jeroen Gulickx, CEO of Mocinno International, VIRTU’s asset management lead, the company is currently assessing development opportunities there.

A recent report by Africa Outlook states Africa will be the second largest tourism country in 2024 driven by a resurgence in travel and investment.

Sandi Lesueur played a pivotal role in connecting Dr. Nisabwe to Frank M. Pfaller Founder and President of HoteliersGuild and its initiatives. Through this partnership, scholarships in travel and tourism are being explored along with plans to offer more scholarships to young women in Burundi. This collaboration could further empower the next generation of female leaders in the hospitality industry.
